Creating your own gifts is a much more affordable, sustainable option, one which you can alter to suit the tastes of the recipient. For example, rather than settling for a cheap, mass-produced bowl or bauble, make your own! Go to a pottery making class, or buy a plain ornament and some paints, and get started. The piece will be unique, and you can use colours and patterns you know your loved one will like, making it personalised to their individual preferences.
